As Honest As I Can Make It
In 1998 Christian
Americana Artist Buck Storm entered the international music scene
with his debut CD, "Goodbye
from Venus". The album immediately began receiving outstanding
reviews from critics worldwide. Today, after four albums, and what he
describes as, "too many miles to remember",
Buck has become a favorite both as a singer / songwriter, and worship
leader, in venues across the country. His reputation is one of integrity,
as a communicator of the Gospel, an advocate for the poor, and an encourager
of the Body of Christ.
Buck
is a storyteller, and his songs flow out of those stories. With an obvious
passion for Jesus, and an easy, natural way of communicating that message,
his ministry has been compared to those of artists like Keith Green, and
Rich Mullins. "When you think of those men,
you remember their tremendous musical offerings, but even more so their
overwhelming love for Jesus Christ." Buck says. "That
kind of passion is contagious, and needed in today's Church. I pray, if
the Lord tarries, that that's the way I'll one day be remembered, as a
Christian, a real Christian. I want to be spent for Him."
Although Buck has shared the stage with some of the world's greatest
songwriters and musicians, you'll find that his approach to performing
is somewhat different than most. "My prayer
is that this can be a true ministry, not just another show."
Says Buck. "I want people to see and hear
the love of God in every word of every story, and every note of every
song. I want them to see that Jesus is the only star. Christ was a radical.
He loved people for who they were, not for what they had to offer. Lord,
give me a heart like that!". During Buck's concerts, songs,
stories, worship and scripture are woven together to convey the love of
a Creator for His creation, and mankind's need, and opportunity, to be
reconciled to Him through the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ.
Buck plays live
throughout America and the world, in venues that range anywhere from churches
large and small, to concert halls, to prisons, to soup kitchens. When
not traveling, Buck serves as worship leader at Candlelight Christian
Fellowship in Coeur d'Alene, ID. Whether you catch him in an intimate
setting or large venue, you will be touched. Sit back and enjoy the scenery.
It's worth it!
"I like to write songs about cities and
small towns, the ghosts that hover around the edges, dreams and dreamers,
families, broken and whole, sin, redemption and the struggle in between,
love, squalor, motels, churches, kings and the common man. I write about
this mixed up, out of control, horribly beautiful cacophony of humanity,
that God loves so much that He gave His only Son to die for. I write
about life as I see it, or sometimes just how I'd like it to be. Whatever
it is it's from the heart and as honest as I can make it."
